ABOUT ME

1985: Matura in Austria. After much struggle.

1986 - 1993: Studies at the University of Vienna (Mag.rer.nat., Zoologie)/M.Sc., Zoology). I never really liked Vienna then.

1993 - 1998: Studies at the University of British Columbia (Ph.D., Fisheries Oceanography). These were the days.

1996 - 1998: Crisis Points Research Fellowship. I should have done more with it.

1999 - 2000: Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship. Again, I should have done more with it.

2000 - 2007: Various research positions at the University of British Columbia. And again, I should have done more with it.

2003: Return of my Ph.D. in protest against the decline of the academy. Not that it changed anything.

2010 - 2019: Mid-level bureaucrat at a fourth-rate university in British Columbia. The lost decade.

2019 - today: Lecturer in ecology and evolution at a fourth-rate university in Vancouver. It is really my own fault that nothing became of me.
